The "Celebrating 25 Years of Strategic Partnership" project is designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the U.S.-Romania Strategic Partnership and to strengthen the alumni community of U.S. State Department exchange programs. Through 25 local workshops held throghout the country, American Councils promotes Romanian-American friendship and cooperation in urban and rural communities, addresses issues of local concern, and encourages citizens to support and protect their democratic rights and freedoms. Program workshops cover topics such as regional peace and security and promoting Euro-Atlantic standards of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights. Additional topics include strengthening the transatlantic economy, inclusion of minorities, and the impact of U.S. exchange experience on alumni perspectives. More than 1000 people attended the workshops.
